  • #97 Bronze vehicle with Dustin Blattner and Dennis Marschall

More than 17,000 fans made their way to the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup in Magny-Cours at the weekend. In France, Rutronik Racing had set itself the goal of building on the performance of the previous event.

The team from Germany already showed in the first qualifying session that they were among the favorites. Sven Müller secured the second row of the grid for the #96 with P3. Team colleague Dennis Marschall followed in a strong fifth place in the #97.

The night race promised to be a real thriller. After a seemingly flawless performance by the duo of Patric Niederhauser and Sven Müller, Rutronik Racing were delighted to take victory in the Sprint Cup. Dennis Marschall and Dustin Blattner rounded off the result with second place in the bronze category. However, a short time later, the Porsche 911 GT3 R with the #96 received a time penalty due to an unnecessary mistake during the pit stop. As a result, the car dropped back to third place.

However, the team was not deterred by this and was once again highly motivated in the second qualifying session. While the starting position was not ideal for either car, the driver quartet proved its quality. Patric Niederhauser and Sven Müller battled their way to 14th place in the #96 car, while the sister car with Dennis Marschall and Dustin Blattner crossed the finish line in first place after 35 laps to take their first win of the season!

The next Fanatec GT World Challenge powered by AWS Endurance Cup race will take place in Monza from September 20 to 22, before the Sprint Final in Barcelona in October.

"With three podium finishes, we can leave Magny-Cours satisfied. However, we certainly have a small downer, as we lost the win on Saturday due to an unnecessary penalty. Nevertheless, we can build on our great performance.

We were very strong throughout the weekend. In the bronze category, we were able to present ourselves very well with the #97. With second and first place in the races, we had an almost perfect points haul."

- Klaus Graf, Team Principal Rutronik Racing

"I am very pleased with the team's double podium success. It was a challenging task that was made possible by Dennis' outstanding performance. I'm looking forward to taking this momentum with me to Monza."

- Dustin Blattner, driver #97
